The Lakota call it inipi and the Aztecs temazcal. Sweatlodges are performed in North- and Mesoamerika. It can also be found in traditional Germany as a tyrolean peasant bath and ancient greec and roman culture as caldarium. In Japan this traditional bath is called sento.
